211 Overcoming the Growth Deficits Programmed by Maternofetal Stress

چکیده

Abstract Prolonged maternofetal stress stunts placental development and causes fetal programming that reduces growth birthweight. Low birthweight due to intrauterine restriction (IUGR) of the fetus increases perinatal mortality. More commonly, however, it results in lifelong impairment muscle capacity metabolic function. In humans, low risk for obesity, diabetes, other disorders by an estimated 18-fold. Similarly, livestock exhibit greater early death loss, poor efficiency, lower-quality carcasses at harvest. These animals manifest feed-to-gain ratios, less lean mass, fat deposition. Together, these outcomes increase production costs, decrease value, reduce amount meat produced per animal. The mechanisms linking induced IUGR impaired postnatal efficiency are largely unknown. However, recent findings neonatal lambs experimentally maternal heat inflammation (and pair-fed controls) indicated skeletal muscle-centric adrenergic inflammatory pathways. Specifically, studies found reduced β2 tone enriched signaling changes coincided with intrinsic myoblast dysfunction, fiber hypertrophy, glucose metabolism. Additionally, exhibited β cell function may also be associated programming. Subsequent have investigated as potential therapeutic targets interventions treatments, which is a fundamental step developing strategies improve humans livestock.

Forebrain CRF₁ modulates early-life stress-programmed cognitive deficits.

Childhood traumatic events hamper the development of the hippocampus and impair declarative memory in susceptible individuals. Persistent elevations of hippocampal corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF), acting through CRF receptor 1 (CRF₁), in experimental models of early-life stress have suggested a role for this endogenous stress hormone in the resulting structural modifications and cognitive ...

Transgenerational transmission of a stress-coping phenotype programmed by early-life stress in the Japanese quail

An interesting aspect of developmental programming is the existence of transgenerational effects that influence offspring characteristics and performance later in life. These transgenerational effects have been hypothesized to allow individuals to cope better with predictable environmental fluctuations and thus facilitate adaptation to changing environments. Here, we test for the first time how...

Oil Price Shocks and Russia’s Economic Growth: The Impacts and Policies for Overcoming Them

Considering Russia’s rich and vast oil resources, this country is one of the world’s greatest producers and exporters of this nonrenewable energy resource, and like other petrostates, receives a major part of its national income in this way. The dependence of Russia’s budget on oil has raised the significance of world oil price fluctuations for this country. Since 1970s, the global oil market h...
